Further, in view of the consistent application of that Regulation, it is recalled that transfers of personal data to a third country or an international organisation are not required to be non-repetitive in order to fulfil one of the derogations of Article 49(1), points (a) to (g), of Regulation (EU) 2016/679. Therefore, the derogation in point (d) of that provision allows for transfers of personal data which are necessary for important reasons of public interest, even where those transfers are repetitive or systematic, if that is necessary to achieve the public interest at issue.
