1a.A Member State may restrict the dissemination or re-use of certain research data where the applicable context does not offer adequate guarantees against the unauthorised transfer of knowledge, the infringement of intellectual property rights or the exposure of data to the extraterritorial application of third-country legislation liable to have a detrimental effect on the security or economic security of the Union or a Member State.
