In particular, the application of obligations designed primarily for economic operators placing AI systems on the internal market should not impose disproportionate administrative burdens on competent public authorities using AI systems exclusively for the exercise of public powers in accordance with Union and national law. Simplification measures should preserve the operational effectiveness of law enforcement authorities, especially where AI supports the fight against organised crime, terrorism and child sexual abuse.
